Refusing to hire ex drug addicts

With substance abuse and recovery being a big issue these days one would wonder , what does it take for a drug addict to fully recover and be seen as a law abiding citizen of their community .

Dan Wright has been clean for 5 months , as he walked past a dollar store in his community he noticed a sign that said now hiring so he figured he would give it a shot putting a application in so he did .

Dan was fortunate enough to get a interview on the spot , so as the manager was going down the application he asked Dan have he ever used drugs before , Dan trying to be true to his new lifestyle change told the manager the truth , he said he used to be a heroin addict . The manager stood up and told Dan thank you but the interview is over , Dan asked what had just happened and the manager said we don't hire former drug addicts because they like to steal .

Dan walked away feeling defeated and wondering when would someone give him a chance , as he walked the street he passed a drug spot he used to cop from and he thought for a second that he could numb the pain with just one bag , Dan said he had to snap out of it and then realize tomorrow is another day with plenty of help wanted signs .

  1. The second key component is to leverage money. By investing and leveraging your money in rehabs, you can watch it grow exponentially. The key is to outlay one dollar in order to get two or three in return. You do not install granite counter tops in a house that will only sell for $150,000 once completed. That is not a smart choice for your money. You do not want to put in four dollars in order to get one dollar in return. Do not over-fix your property. Fix to your neighborhood standards, and always ask yourself how much money this particular decision, material, or feature will return in dollar value when you begin to market the house for sale. Always look to effectively leverage your money on every decision you make in the rehab process.
