States jumping on the bandwagon for the opioid money grab

California, Hawaii, Maine and the District of Columbia filed lawsuits Monday against the maker of OxyContin and the company's former president, alleging the firm falsely promoted the drug by downplaying the risk of addiction while it emerged as one of the most widely abused opioids in the U.S.

The lawsuits were the latest by states and local governments against drugmaker Purdue Pharma as the country grapples with an opioid epidemic. About a dozen states have also targeted Richard Sackler, the company's former leader, or members of his family.

The opioid problem these days seem to be turning into a money grab for people who have never used before or ever been effected . For some reason with all the law suits running around I don't hear or see any new treatment centers going up in cities that's effected , or instead of opening new mental illness facilities to help the underline problem they have closed them all .

The greed of people is showing in clear blue , when will the addict that's struggling get the help that's needed .

  1. Just finding out you have a blog. I respect that you are living on purpose to help others and make them aware of how deep this problem is in the cities. Every community is affected by these issues, and I've learned more than ever before how this is impacting the world. Today, you mentioned that you hope you can remain on YouTube. If by chance anything happens, research other video sites like Vimeo and Twitch( they are video platforms as well; I'm not sure what their rules are, though) Also, don't forget to do some skype videos with other vloggers online. Ask some of the Youtube news providers that remain on Youtube if they'll interview so you can share your mission. You have real insights that need to be heard. Glad to see you have a website. Keep up the great work!
